How does the word counter work?
Our word counter analyzes your text in real-time as you type. It counts words by splitting the text on whitespace, counts characters including and excluding spaces, identifies sentences by punctuation marks (.!?), and detects paragraphs by line breaks.
What are the preset limits for?
We've built in character and word limits for popular platforms โ X (Twitter), Instagram, Amazon, YouTube, Google SEO meta descriptions, and academic writing (IELTS, TOEFL). Select a preset and the tool will warn you in red when you exceed (or fall short of) the limit. You can also set a custom target.
How is reading and speaking time calculated?
Reading time is based on an average speed of 200 words per minute. Speaking time uses a slower rate of 130 words per minute (typical for presentations and speeches). For example, a 1,000-word script would take about 5 minutes to read silently and about 8 minutes to deliver as a speech.
How does the keyword frequency analysis work?
The tool splits your text into individual words, converts them to lowercase, filters out common English stop words (like "the", "is", "and"), then counts how often each remaining word appears. The top 10 most frequent words are displayed with their count and density percentage. This is useful for SEO writers checking keyword usage and Amazon sellers verifying keyword placement.

Does it work with different languages?
