Is this tool really free?
Yes! Completely free with no sign-up required. No credits, no watermarks, no limits. The AI model runs entirely in your browser, so there are no server costs.
How does it detect faces?
This tool uses Google's MediaPipe BlazeFace short-range model (~900KB) with image tiling โ when a photo is large, it's split into overlapping tiles and each tile is scanned independently, so even tiny faces in group photos and distant shots are detected. Smart Non-Maximum Suppression (NMS) deduplicates overlapping detections. Everything runs locally in your browser using WebGL acceleration, and no image data is ever sent to a server.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No! Your image is processed entirely in your browser. It never gets uploaded to any server. You can even use this tool offline after the model is cached.
What if it misses a face?
You can click the "Add Manual Box" button and drag on the image to draw a custom blur region. You can also click any detected box to toggle blurring on/off for that specific face.
What blur styles are available?
Four styles: Gaussian blur (smooth blur), Mosaic (pixelated blocks), Solid block (solid color rectangle), and Emoji (cover with an emoji of your choice). You can also adjust the blur strength.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes! This tool works on modern mobile browsers. Face detection is fast enough for real-time use on most devices. For best results with large images, use a desktop browser.
